A Metrum Együttes egyik fontos küldetése Kondor Ádám gazdag életművének megelevenítése. Ez az este Kondor zeneszerzői világának három különböző arcát mutatja be.
Az első egy lehetséges 7. Brandenburgi koncert, Kondor kedvenc Bach-kantátájának újragondolása. Ez a legújabb a zeneszerző számos átirata közül, amelyekben ezerféleképpen veszi fel elődei bőrét. A következő mű a Magic sorozatba tartozik, Kondor egyik kisebb léptékű, csodaváró darabja, saját legjellegzetesebb kompozíciós stílusának képviselője.
A műsor második felében egy mesevilág bontakozik ki – a 20. századfordulóra megálmodott, hipotetikus posztromantikus stílusban. Ez a nagyszabású, félórás mű a COVID-korszak terméke. Lehetséges zenetörténeti előzménye Mozart mini zenekarra írt zenés tréfája. A Glückliche Dorfmusikanten (Boldog falusi muzsikusok) az életörömöt hirdeti a világjárvány szöges ellentéteként, szinte tapintható zenei trükkökbe és humorba öltöztetve.
Bringing the composer Adam Kondor’s rich body of work to the stage is a primary focus for the Metrum Ensemble. During the evening, three aspects of Kondor’s musical world were on display.
First, the audience enjoyed the re-interpretation of Kondor’s favorite Bach cantata in the form of a would-be Brandenburg Concerto No. 7. This most recent transcription demonstrates the composer’s ability to personify his musical predecessors in myriad ways. This was followed by a modest, forward-looking piece from Kondor’s Magic series, representing the artist’s distinctive style of composition.
Throughout the second half of the concert, the audience witnessed a fantasy world unfold in a hypothetical, post-romantic style envisioned for the 20th century. The expansive, half-hour piece was born out of the COVID pandemic – and was likely inspired by a musical farce written by Mozart for a small orchestra. A stand-in for joie de vivre, and delivered in the tangible ingenuity and humor of its musical language, Glückliche Dorfmusikanten (‘Joyful Village Musicians’) stood as the antithesis of the pandemic era.
